How many times have you walked into a Bar and received as many Free Shots as you cared to consume? No, not those kinds of shots, I’m talking about the good stuff made from virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegar. Yum, now that’s what I’m talking about!
Curt Campbell is the owner of Oilerie Oils who’s appearing on the Shark Tank in episode 604 this Friday night. If you never visited an Oilerie Olive Oil Bar before, your taste buds are in for a real treat from these exotic flavors produced in Italy and now available in the United States. Curt and his wife Amy, began this journey mastering the art of Olive Oils and Vinegars while on a vacation in Italy. After seeing how popular this product is abroad, the idea came to them, “why don’t they have olive oil bars in the U.S.?’
Within six months, the Campbell’s started importing bulk specialty olive oils from 4th generation Italian Master, Adriano Mantova, and re-bottled the product under their own “Oilerie Oils Label”. The first little cottage store’s located in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, which turned into an instant success almost overnight. According to the website, this flagship store started in 2003, is only 325 square feet, and brings in almost $1 million in annual sales.
After watching a few videos of Curt Campbell explaining the entire Oilerie Olive Oil products, its become very clear there’s a lot more to this business than you might think. Now over ten years later, and dozens of trips back to Italy, Curt clearly has mastered the fine art of specialty oils we’ll learn about on this episode 604 of the Shark Tank Show.

When Josh and Sara got married they wanted to go to Fiji for their Honeymoon and preferred any wedding gifts go towards paying for the trip instead of a traditional household gift. The soon-to-be married couple researched over a dozen online wedding registry’s to make it as easy as possible for their guests, but was shocked at the high prices and booking fees. With all the website building tools available today, they figured why not start their own Online Wedding Registry customized to help pay for the ultimate Honeymoon they both envisioned.
This creative solution the Margulis’s came up with to help pay for their honeymoon was an instant success raising over $5100.00 towards their trip to Fiji. HoneyFund before the Shark Tank Update
The HoneyFund site not only is a great way to crowd fund your honeymoon, its also a great site to help put together a great vacation. Nothing is left to chance when planning the ultimate vacation on this site. The one thing that’s a little concerning the Sharks might not like is how much revenue the Honey Fund site is generating from this business model. You can use the Wedding Registry for free if you don’t mind a few advertisements on the page, or pay only $19.99 and up, for ad-free and upgraded options. It will be interesting to see if the Margulis’s discuss the actual percentage of upgrades during their appearance on the Shark Tank.
The wedding registry also has a 100% Free Private Label available for travel agents and wedding planners. I assume the site also offers the upgraded version to all private label registers, and that’s how they’re making money from giving away this free service. It’s hard to imagine the Honey Fund’s not connected with a travel agency to book vacations considering the level of detailed planning on the site. But as far as I can tell, this potential revenue stream has not been implemented. There must be something more to making money with this unique concept then meets the eye, but need to wait until the Shark Tank airs to find out exactly how much profit is being generated.
The main thing you’ll need to consider when crowdfunding for your honeymoon is the delay when booking your trip, and the wedding day when most of the financial gifts will arrive. In most cases the trip will need to be booked several weeks in advance, so keep that in mind and make sure you budget accordingly.

It seems like every new episode has at least one or two products that ran a successful crowd-funding campaign prior to an appearance on the Show. But what makes the BeatBox Beverages standout is its the only product that didn’t have an overwhelming successful funding campaign, and yet they still made the final-cut for the Shark Tank Show.
This little fact is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact quite the opposite considering the level of competition to get on the show. The Beat Box might have been beaten down a bit after the campaign, but someone from the Shark Tank Show still seen this product as a great opportunity for the Sharks to invest in this business.
So far the Beat Box Beverage’s is available in approximately two dozen stores all over the State of Texas.
